Even though the 2009 presidential inauguration behind us, it’s probably still too early to see if the interest that people showed in the political process during the election will continue as we move forward. Obama’s African American heritage was history-making, but time will only tell if that is enough to keep people rallied behind the president.

It would be nice if that were the case, because there’s been so much unhappiness for so long. For example, there would be great benefit to veterans if this unification happened. Many were wounded in American conflagrations and in the case of the Viet Nam war, they sometimes didn’t get the appreciation they deserved when they came back to the United States. That’s why I designed some free patriotic clip art that promotes the idea that we should pay tribute to veterans. Using the clip art wherever veterans will see it is a small way we can show our support of them. That support just might renew the spirit of veterans feeling disenchanted with their country’s response to their military service. We need to honor veterans more often than just sending occasional Veterans Day cards. Americans need to value them all the time. They’ve earned it. If that support doesn’t come from us; where will it come from?

Yet, it’s not just veterans who would benefit from the unification of our country. It would be wonderful to see people saluting American flags when on parade, because they just couldn’t stop themselves from expressing their patriotism. Hopefully, that rush of feeling will help encourage peace. But will this unification take place? There are some people who are having a bad reaction to the new administration’s actions. But that’s just the way American politics works. Those checks and balances are important to make sure no one party gets out of control. We hope so anyway. The people of the U.S. will just have to keep their fingers crossed and wait.

The Labour Party is in a shambles and are lacking a real leader. Some how Gordon Brown has stayed on as the party leader. Mr Brown has stated that he will learn from his mistakes and that he will start to listen to the people but many believe that he lacks true leadership qualities and the communication skills to turn it around. I doubt whether the British public would forgive him for his errors. So what are the potential solutions to this problem? What could Labour do to give themselves a chance of staying in power?

Now I am not a member of parliment. I am merely an average guy on the streets who enjoys the whole subject of politics. I am a web promotion specialist based in the heart of England who promotes websites to do with stuttering, increase self-confidence and professional web promotion.

I may well have the solution to the current problems facing the Labour Party! Who is the one person, the one member of parliment who has spoken the most sense in the last twelve months? Vince Cable would be my answer to this question. Mr Cable is the MP for Twickenham and is the Lib Dem Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer.

So this is what I would do. I would offer Mr Cable the chance of becoming the new leader of all new stronger Labour party. He may need to stand for a type of leadership election or vote however this would or at least should be a foregone conclusion that he would win. I would let him have full control of the Labour party and to therefore choose his own cabinet, this really goes without saying of course.

As leader of the Labour Party I am sure that Vince Cable would become Prime Minister and that he would lead the country out of the desperate state that it is in. I suppose it all boils down to whether Vince Cable wants the responsibilty of being Prime Minister and whether he would be willing to switch to the Labour Party. I for one would love to see him switch and as our new leader.

On 4-11-2008, the presidential election polls of the USA were conducted.  Republican John McCain from Arizona was defeated by Democrat Barack Obama of Illinois.  This was the 56th quadrennial presidential election in the USA for president and vice president.  Since 1952, this was the first occasion where an incumbent president and vice president had not run for the same offices.

The American president, Barack Obama has been quite criticized by his our press after he decided to give the Queen an iPod. The gift was given during a meeting held at Buckingham palace. The idea of giving the iPod was that of getting the Queen back some memories from her visit done in the USA a couple of years ago, but also to familiarize her with new policies and ideas of the USA, through the numerous speeches the American president included on the device.

American officials say that the president also includes an audio book by Richard Rodgers in his gift. Clearly, he tried to make everything pretty rare and special, and in return he and his wife got a big framed and signed picture of Elisabeth and Philip. This is, in fact, the usual gift the queen give out when she receives visits.

Obama and wife tried really hard to come up with a unique present idea for the Great Britain’s Queen. When they were presented with that small and insignificant gift, a plain photo that all political persons who visited her already have, they must’ve felt pretty upset, but they never showed it.

American newspapers tell us about the first odd gift Obama made this week. He has given the Britain’s prime Minister a set of rare movies, on DVD. After a few days, the Prime Minister realized that the movies were only working in the USA, and were not compatible with European players. And now, let’s only hope that since he gave the Queen an ipod he also remembered to get her the ipod battery charger , so that the Queen can actually watch and listen everything he’s included on it.

The meeting between the two seemed tension free and agreeable. They talked and shook hands and they were not in any way embarrassed by the other one’s gift. The Queen seems to be already familiar with the ipod, since she already got some years ago, with a collection of great classical tunes. That ipod was also a gift.
